خزش یا creepage یک جریان هدایتی کوچک بین دو هادی از طریق یک سطح واسطه است ومعمولاً تا وقتی منجر به شکست عایقی نشود مشکل ساز نخواهد بود. اما کورونا پدیده ای الکترومغناطیسی مربوط به تخلیه الکتریکی درون یک گاز یونیزه شونده است که با نور و صدا همراه است. طبیعت جریانهای کورونا همان جریان جابجایی قابل مشاهده در خازنهای الکتریکی است و با جریانهای انتقالی ناشی از خزش متفاوت است.
