The following rules must be obeyed in order to successfully connect two or more transformers in parallel with each other: 1. The turn ratios of all of the transformers must be nearly equal. 2. The phase angle displacements of all of the transformers must be identical. 3. The series impedances of all transformers must be nearly equal, when expressed as

How can we obtain the impedance of transformers?

          Hamid

%Uk (impedance voltage which written in TR. name plate) = %Z ( TR impedance per unit ) Because: According to definition, the impedance voltage is the percentage of primary rated voltage which can be caused rated current in short circuited secondary side. So we can write: Ztr . In = %Uk . Un %Uk = Ztr / (Un/In) = Ztr/Zb = %Z

Ideally Identical transformer asshould be kept in parrallel . So fior parallel operation , the 2 transformer should have th rfollowing : (a) Same Voltage Ratio (b)Same Vector Group (c) same Percentage impedence ( regulation –terminal voltage )
