If i connect the -ve and +ve pole of a battery then which point i can consider as ground?
If a ground point is the reference point with adequate zero-voltage reference level,then if i connect the negative and positive pole of a cell or battery together then which point or pole should i consider as the ground or reference point?

When solidly short circuit occurs in output of battery, there is not any difference between two polarities regarding ground considerations and no differential voltage between two output terminals. Please note there are differences between internal and output potential of battery, because of battery internal resistance.
